A Wake for Jane

Our summer program will continue our observance of the 200th anniversary of Jane Austen’s passing into immortality.

The event will include a lavish buffet lunch and presentations by our own members.

We are asking our members to submit to us a “eulogy” for Jane Austen.  In preparing your remarks, here are some questions you might consider:

• When and how did you first “meet” Jane Austen?  When did you know you were “in love”?
• What was your most memorable Jane Austen moment?
• At what point did you know you were one of those crazy Jane Austen fans who could never get enough?
• How has Jane Austen changed your life?

The Program Committee will select our favorite eulogies and those people will read their eulogies at our July 29 program. Please note that each presentation will be limited to approximately 8 minutes.
