“I must confess that I think her as delightful a creature as ever appeared in print, & how I shall be able to tolerate those who do not like her at least, I do not know.”

–Letter from Jane Austen to Cassandra Austen, 29 January 1813

Mr. Darcy may have received more than his share of attention in recent years, but Elizabeth Bennet remains the heart and soul of Pride and Prejudice.  And we can all agree that any actress who has played her on stage and screen has to do most of the heavy lifting in any dramatization, however much the actor playing Mr. Darcy may smolder his way into the hearts of audiences.  Join us for a lively discussion by a panel of distinguished experts to take a look at Lizzy Bennet and her many manifestations from the pages of Austen’s novel to Fire Island.

We’ll want you to join the discussion, too, so let’s a show a little love for Lizzy!
